Football Recap: Broncos Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following conceding a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 offensive yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to score a possible victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," Glenn commented following the game.
