Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance plans to begin significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 American roles under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are likely, as the firm aiming to announce full details during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates stated the company was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

By December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
